What is the TreasurySpring MCP?
The TreasurySpring MCP server connects Claude and Claude Code to your live TreasurySpring data. Once connected, you can ask questions in plain English instead of navigating the portal manually - whether that is reviewing your portfolio, checking available cash investments (indications), or analysing counterparty exposure.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol - an open standard that lets AI tools securely access external data sources. You do not need to understand how MCP works to use it.
Note: The MCP server provides read-only access. It cannot place subscriptions, modify settings, or take any action on your behalf.
What you can do
Once connected, ask your AI assistant things like:
"Show me all my active holdings maturing this month"
"What GBP indications are available right now?"
"Give me a summary of our counterparty exposure to Barclays
"List all subscriptions placed in the last 30 days"
"What is the total value of our holdings by currency?"
Your AI assistant only sees data that your TreasurySpring account has permission to access. The same visibility rules that apply in the portal apply here.
Before you start
You will need:
A TreasurySpring portal account - the same login you use at app.treasuryspring.com.
Claude (web or desktop app), Claude Code (CLI or in VS Code), or Copilot (CLI or in VS Code).
About 5 minutes - setup is a one-time process per tool.

Who should set this up?
This depends on how your organisation uses its AI tools:
If you have your own Claude account, you can set this up yourself in a few minutes using either guide below.
If your team shares a Claude organisation account, your IT team or Claude admin may need to add the TreasurySpring connector at the organisation level first. Once they have done that, you just click Connect. Share Section 2 (Visual setup guide) with them.
If you use Claude Code in a terminal or in VS Code, you or your developer can follow Section 3 (Technical setup guide). It usually takes one command plus a quick authentication step.
